Our Book: Digital Decisions
A technology book that will not go out of date!
Making sense of all of the pros and cons, challenges and opportunities involved in integrating technology into early childhood classrooms might seem daunting. It is even more confounding that the choices of equipment, devices, software, and apps seem to change every day. We wrote Digital Decisions: Choosing the Right Technology Tools for Early Childhood Education to provide you with the tools you need to make sound decisions about technology choices and help the teachers and students with whom you work, even as devices and applications change.
We didn’t write a book of recommended tools or applications, because tomorrow, those recommendations will be out of date. We focused on helping you learn how to make
decisions on your own. Digital Decisions is full of charts and forms that help you plan for technology implementation and weave technology into your active, child-centric, hands-on classrooms and programs. We set out to provide you with real life examples to help you be as confident selecting and using technology tools as you are using blocks, dramatic play, and other traditional experiences in your classroom. The book focuses on practical and intentional experiences.
ECEtech.net is an o
utgrowth of the book. The site and the book complement one another perfectly. We envisioned a site that offers interactive forms and tools to support your work, and a portal for reliable information from two early childhood experts who are as passionate about developmentally appropriate practice as they are using technology to enhance early learning.
We invite you to join us as we add resources and functionality to the site, and become a community
member who will pay it forward with your own experiences and ideas.
